Baby Beehinds Bamboo Fleece Nappy is possibly the most absorbent nappy we've ever sold and one of the most versatile too!
The baby behinds bamboo fleece nappy is made from very dense and beautifully soft Bamboo Fleece. (70% bamboo fleece and 30% organic cotton for quicker drying time). (it looks very much like good quality hemp at first glance, not loopy bamboo like other bamboo nappies that often fall apart quite easily after a few washes) it is a wonderful nappy for newborns and heavy wetting toddlers alike.
There is no internal soaker sewn into these nappies, they are designed this way to allow for quicker drying. Instead, these unique nappies have two removable boosters, one short and central and an extra long one that poppers to the front top edge of the nappy and can be folded differently, which means you can customise the absorbency to suit boys or girls. The short insert adds that little bit of extra absorption for an older baby. With elastic at the back and legs, this nappy will provide a lovely neat fit and help prevent blowouts. Snap Closure.
It's slow to dry but not as slow as you'd expect for the level of absorbency because the boosters can be separated.
It's also available in natural plus 4 wonderfully vibrant colours (we recommend washing different colours separately once or twice just to guarantee colours are fast before risking with white nappies!)
Fastens at the waist with poppers and has softly elasticated legs for optimum containment.
Like all birth to potty nappies, expect a bit of extra bulk on a newborn!
Bamboo is another supremely environmentally friendly fabric choice for your baby's nappy. Baby Beehinds bamboo nappies are made from luscious Bamboo Fleece fabric. Bamboo is relatively new to the cloth nappy world, but it is gaining huge popularity- for good reason! Like hemp, it is naturally antimicrobial and antifungal whilst also offering superior absorbancy when compared to a cotton alternative. It requires minimal water for growth, and with such a short cultivation cycle, the bamboo fibre is naturally renewable. The fibres used to make our particular fabric have been grown on special bamboo farms- this means that no wild bamboo resources have been consumed. As an added bonus you'll be pleased to know that absolutely no pesticides or fungicides/herbicides etc are required for growing bamboo....meaning this fabric we offer to you has had no contact with any nasty chemicals during growth.
Though bamboo will take longer to dry than cotton (because it is so much more absorbent), it retains its softness to offer the most comfy choice for your baby! A fabulous choice for an overnight nappy!
PREPARING YOUR BABY BEEHIND NAPPIES FOR FIRST USE
•Baby BeeHinds ™ nappies are fine to use in front and top loading washing machines.
•Wash baby behind nappies 3 times prior to first use to remove residues left behind from fabric manufacture. In the first wash, simply use half a scoop of detergent. In the second and third washes no detergent is required. Warm or hot water is best for these initial washes.
•Dry your nappies. Baby BeeHinds ™ nappies are fine to use in tumble dryers. Please use cool or warm cycle only. The hot cycle is not recommended as it will wear out your nappies quicker. Line drying is best for our environment.
CARING FOR YOUR BABY BEEHIND NAPPIES
•We recommend washing your baby behind cloth nappies every second day. We do not recommend leaving them any longer than this as doing so may be detrimental to the lifespan of your nappies.
•When baby needs a nappy change, clean baby’s bottom as per normal. If the nappy has been soiled, rinse into a bucket and then tip bucket contents down the toilet and flush. To make life easier though, we highly recommend the ‘Little Squirt’. It is a sprayer device that attaches to your toilet to enable you to spray the mess off the nappy directly into the toilet without you having to get your hands dirty.
•Nappies that have only been peed in do not need to be rinsed (unless you want to. It can be a good idea to rinse nappies though if baby is experiencing very strong teething pees as the ammonia in urine is quite a strong chemical and may degrade nappies if they are left too long in the bucket)
•Put nappy directly into a dry nappy bucket. We do not recommend regularly soaking your nappies in any solutions, particularly those that contain chlorine bleaching agents, as it will directly affect a nappy’s lifespan. However, soaking in plain water is okay if this is your preference.
•Once the bucket is full (generally every second day) simply put the baby beehind nappies into your washing machine and set your machine to do a rinse cycle. Once the rinse cycle is completed you can wash your nappies. We recommend washing in either cold or warm water. Any temperature up to 60 degrees is fine. Remember to use only half a scoop to one full scoop of detergent. Using too much detergent can lead to a build up of product on your nappies and can affect the baby beehind nappy’s absorbency and perhaps make them smelly. Never use fabric softener at any time as it will leave a residual coating on the fabric fibres.
•PUL covers are to be cared for in the same manner as your nappies.
•If line drying your nappies, to keep nappy elastic in best condition, try pegging your nappies on the line ‘horizontally’ (like you would a bedsheet) rather than ‘vertically’ (see picture below). This way, the weight of the wet nappy does not stretch the elastic whilst drying. Alternatively, drape nappies over a clothes horse instead. If tumble drying your nappies use the cool or warm setting only.
