They will not cling like plastic curtains and are known to be naturally resistant to mould and bacteria, making hemp the best natural material for shower curtains, so no more chemically, or mouldy smelling bathroom curtains when you have these!!
The hemp shower curtain dries easily in a well ventilated room, if left open, and they can be washed on a warm cycle and dried on gentle in a tumble dryer, or hung to dry, when required.
The hemp shower curtain is currently available in natural with hemp rope rings (detachable) included.
Please note it is possible that there may be some irregularities in the weave, which should not be deemed a fault and is characteristic of a natural fabric . Please remove the hemp rope rings when washing the curtain.

Hemp is naturally one of the most ecologically friendly fabrics. It is a renewable, biodegradable resource that grows well without pesticides, herbicides or fungicides and has a deep root system that helps to prevent soil erosion, whilst removing toxins and aerating the soil to the benefit of future crops. It is also drought resistant, unfortunately an important factor in today's world.
Hemp is a most resourceful crop and as such has been cultivated for thousands of years. The fibres being renowned for their strength and durability, whilst the seeds are a great nutritional source of proteins, as well as providing other health and practical uses. It has a relatively short growth cycle, so is an efficient crop for farmers to grow, and is known for its many other uses such as paper, bodycare products, detergents, pet foods and even biofuels.
Hemp is a textural, naturally attractive fabric that can be produced in various weights, so is suitable for the finest of apparel to heavy duty upholstery. It is naturally UV resistant and absorbent, and is also known for its anti-bacterial, anti-mould and insulative qualities. It feels soft and has a contemporary elegance, suitable for today's more simple taste.
**Although hemp is known to be naturally resistant to mould and bacteria, please remember that it is a natural fabric that has not been treated with any chemicals so this cannot be guaranteed as it may depend on individual conditions. Opening the shower curtain and allowing it to dry properly in a well ventilated bathroom, with the window open, is recommended. If being used in a bath, it should be placed on the outside of the bath (ringing out any excess water at the hem if necessary) after use, for air circulation, to allow it to dry.
Hemp does not need any special care and is happy to be washed, which you can do at 30 (or 40) degrees.
You can add solutions such as hydrogen peroxide and distilled white vinegar, borax and nappy fresh (see biodegradable.biz) etc to your wash if you feel mould/mildew may be a problem in your bathroom. Although most customers are happy with their hemp shower curtain as it is, you may wish to use a liner if the conditions in your bathroom do not suit the use of a fabric shower curtain alone. Please remove all curtain rings as and when you wash the shower curtain.
